Damn, Kyle. Normally I can’t see you, but I guess you ditched the cloak of invisibility. Seriously, man, this is amazing.

I got to spend five days in Yellowstone a couple of years ago and these beasts took my breath away. Icons, indeed.

Lovely work, Kyle.

We have bison here in CA.

They’re totally allowed into all rooms. Along with the wolves. 🐺

Kyle Ryan's avatar

Nice! We’ve got them here too. No wild wolves tho.

We have grey wolves in CA. You might have at least one in KY, no? 😏

Kyle Ryan's avatar

Did you watch it? are you the one other person??

I used to watch it and Farscape back in college.

You mean with Kai of the Brunnen-G? Yeah I might have heard of it lol

Bison are the provincial symbol of Manitoba.

Kyle Ryan's avatar

Oh cool I didn’t know that, David. What a wonderful symbol to have there.

And as always my friend, thank you reading and restacking it!

The image of the bison lingering in the fog stayed with me. “A proper mammal on fire and refusing peace” is such an unexpected line—it makes the creature feel both ancient and restless at once. I enjoyed how the poem never fully explains itself, but lets the atmosphere carry the meaning.

Antonio, thank you so much for reading and the feedback, good sir!!

Yes close enough & to be clear I don't feel poems to be a poem has to rhyme, how pedestrian. But to back peddle on that I was also wrong to think a prose style was more impactful and harder. An original rhyme scheme is not an easy feat. Like a great drummer in a comment 4/4 time signature it's how you control the flow and hit the offbeat accents. As for the poem using the list of challenging rhymes I did one about six months ago so was being a little self depreciating here. It's tough but do able still like any sort of professional not ready to share imo. When you know you know.

I would have read this poem if your picture wasn't on this post. There's no way the poem be any good sorry try again.

All good, TJ. And thank you, man.

Yeah the “orange” rhyme is wildly tough. Could you use something even close like forage? Or no?

Kyle Ryan's avatar

TJ, it’s been a long time. I can’t truly tell if you’re serious or not (I think you are though), but if you are, that’s a wild reason not to read someone’s poem. I didn’t have a pic to post for it and it just defaults to my PFP. It’s not a purposeful pic for this. Oh well, thanks for not reading but letting me know you didn’t read it lol

I'll confess I read it and was a little jealous at your brilliance and in that 'professional jealously ' sort of way lashed out as if above it all. Believe me I am not always like this more often then not I prefer I give a virtual reassuring hug 🤗. Lately I've been frustrated with coming up a rhyme for orange. Even taking it so far to look up the most challenging words to rhyme and write a poem centered around that. Anyway my apologies you're on the right track & I was the moo cow standing on that track wanting the cow catcher to take me along for the ride.
